the three muses are:
untitled woman – vocals & electronics
keith jafrate – saxophone
regular viewers might know them as 2/3 of pollen count (richard knight being the missing third). this new duo venture shares some characteristics with that trio, but also evolves the approach, with more live manipulation of the sound, and a stronger narrative element. the results range from dark, haunting explorations across to wild deconstruction of beats and rhythms. in fact it’s all pretty weird and labyrinthine, but these two can make up a good story.
untitled woman performs solo as well as in this duo and in pollen count. her background is in film and performance, so she’s a commanding singer, intense and theatrical.
keith jafrate plays with uroboro & orfeo 5. he’s a lyrical player, whether playing free or in time, always in search of the song-line.
