Formed in January 2019 The Dissonance Collective [TDC] is a group of musicians and artists creating free improvised objects. Each TDC release or performance represents a chunk of time/space which exists with or without our input. They choose to fill a designated moment with unplanned sound, as an object.
A collective with fluid boundaries core members can include Charlie Wells, Matt Wells, Robert Kentell and Susie Jones. Accented by welcomed visitors who lend their conversation to the sounds when available.
Their lasted release is an exploration of the folk ballad Tamlyn. Diving into the tale and melodies to find an expressive and unique retelling through spontaneous composition.
“The Dissonance Collective fulfil their aim to take traditional music to a uniquely open-ended place” The Wire
“Dissonance Collective managed to make hairs on the back of the neck music, hallucinogenic and edgy” Fatea
