Partial Trust is a new collaboration between Richard Knight and Abigail
Sanders, exploiting the relationship between unadulterated acoustic and
electronic phenomena.

Sourcing from the hauntingly rich and pure timbres of the French Horn,
Abigail emphasizes the natural acoustics of the instrument through multiple
extended techniques, in a never-ending attempt to synchronize with (or
combat against) the diverse range of sounds that the no-input mixer spews
forth.

In a clash of regulated feedback, Richard harnesses the elusive delights
of two short-circuited audio mixers. Intense and often capricious, these
traditionally passive audio devices are teased into subversion, revealing
eccentric and diverse personae.

Watch these two formidable and untrustworthy instruments combine and
compete in a volatile frenzy of harmonics, as the respective controllers of
their beasts explore the many characters of this unique instrumental duo.

Warning: Ultrasonic tones emitted by the no-input mixer have been proven
to cause fatigue and headaches.

The University of Sheffield New Music Ensemble provides a regular showcase for new music and there is also an established tradition of performance of music theatre and operatic work as well as compositions for larger ensembles such as concert band, chamber orchestra and chamber choir.
