ELDA – 14 March 2019

By Rodrigo  //  Performances  //  No Comments

ELDA is a longstanding duo collaboration between piano/keyboard player Andrew Woodhead and trumpeter Aaron Diaz (The Destroyers, Sid Peacock), mixing acoustic sounds with live electronics and soundscapes. For their latest project they are collaborating with Norwegian vocalist Kari Eskild Havenstrøm(Trondheim Voices, Kristoffer Lo), with whom Andrew first performed at Cheltenham Jazz Festival as part of a Trondheim/Birmingham musical exchange. This recording sees the trio exploring the boundaries between the worlds of jazz, improv, electronica and folk as well as the ever-changing relationship between composition and free improvisation.

ELDA ft. Kari Eskild Havenstrøm is touring the UK in March 2019 to support the release of their new CD Shiny/Things. Please visit andrewwoodheadmusic.com/live for dates/info. The CD/download is available at https://andrewwoodhead.bandcamp.com/album/shiny-things

About The Noise Upstairs

The Noise Upstairs is an improv collective which runs a free-improv night in Manchester. The basic premise is that anyone can turn up and join in by putting their name in the hat. Names are pulled out, ensembles formed, and hearts broken.
