Nicolas Dobson & Anton Hunter – 8 August 2013

Nicolas Dobson is a drummer / violinist from Skipton who grew up in the punk / DIY / noise scenes of Leeds and Manchester while simultaneously getting a classical education at the RNCM. Since 2005 he has been mainly playing free, collaborating with northern improvisers and sound artists including David Birchall, Kelly Jones, Dan Bridgwood-Hill, Pascal Nichols and Richard Harrison as well as musicians in Spain, Italy and Palestine, where he lived for two years.

Anton Hunter is a guitarist from Manchester. He found his way to improvisation through playing in experimental post-rock bands and later sullied all this by discovering jazz. These days he exists in a constant state of confusion, trying to drag some coherence out of the meeting point of these different musics. Has been spotted playing with Mick Beck, Beats & Pieces Big Band, Sam Andreae, Dave Birchall, Phil Marks and leading his own trio.
